Membership of Lakas Bayanihan Credit Cooperative

Anyone who are in active duty and retirees from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) can apply for membership at Lakas Bayanihan Credit Cooperative.

Lakas Bayanihan Credit Cooperative or LBCC is a CDA Registered cooperative that was formed with a noble purpose: To empower every member to be able to attain a degree of financial freedom and capability by providing low-interest loans, savings, financial advice, and other services that serve to enhance their financial and economic status. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life of every member.

Both active and retired officers, enlisted and civilian personnel of the uniformed services (AFP, PNP, BFP, BJMP, PCG) as well as their legal dependents can be members of the LBCC. The primary benefit of being a member of LBCC is to be able to apply for a loan or service that you may use to start a business, fund an immediate pressing need, or to invest in a legitimate business activity. These are just the initial offerings at the moment and we will be expanding our range of services as we go along.

The membership process is quite simple:

  • If you fall under any of the qualifications stated in the answer to question 2 above (A2), then you may fill out an application form accessible online at (https://lakasbayanihancreditcoop.com) or a printed application form (available free of charge at the main office).
  • When applying via the online registration, fill out the required information and click the submit button and prepare all necessary supporting documents for submission online thru (email address) or you may visit the head office at 2nd Level, PNP Multilevel Parking Building, Camp Crame, Quezon City.
  • Payment of annual membership fee of PHP 300.00 and payment of at least one (1) share valued at PHP 1,000.00 per share via online payment, bank deposit or cash at the LBCC office must be made. 
  • Your application will be screened and submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. Approved members may immediately avail of the privileges and services of the cooperative. Members may subscribe up to 2,500 shares (PHP 2,500,000.00)

LBCC is required to conduct a Pre-Membership Education Seminar  in compliance with Republic Act 9520, S-2009, otherwise known as the Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008, to prospective members. The law mandates that all interested member applicants of the cooperative shall undergo a Pre-Membership Education Seminar.

Pre-Membership seminar is the necessary first step to take before joining the cooperative. The target group of this Pre-membership seminars are the following:

  • Future members of the cooperative; and
  • Persons who have shown interest to be members.

The following services are  offered by the cooperative, which all members may avail:

  • Loans
  • Savings Deposit
  • Healthcare and life insurance
  • Educational assistance
  • Investment programs

At present, the following table shows the interest rates for salary loan available to all members:

A member may avail of a loan if he satisfies the following:

  • Must be a regular or Associate member;
  • Must have paid the annual membership dues;
  • Must have paid a minimum of one (1) share;
  • Must have a minimum of PHP 1,000.00 savings deposit; and
  • Must not be delinquent.

Members will earn 2% interest compounded annually for savings deposits. This is far better than regular bank deposits. Interest on savings may be subject to tax.
